Onake Dragon Boat Race

First race of the season
First race, under cloudy skies (with Jean-François steering): 1500m in 7:11, placing us 5th overall.
Second race, under brightening skies, a little bit of sunshine and some
welcomed warm air: 1500m in 6:58... WOW, impressive!... finishing 3rd overall in this second round of heats.
All this put us 4th overall (the first two times combined) and we qualify
for the A Final!!!
FINAL: 500m... At this point, the sun is out and it's getting warmer
and warmer...

4- BMO
Therefore, the Verdun Club wins its first bronze medal!!!

The Executive Committee would like to thank and congratulate all the members who participated in the festival:

In addition, we cannot forget our many supporters who cheered us on from
the shore: Denise, Francine (better late than never!), Jessica and the friends
and family of several members.
Also, a huge thank you to Matt who did a superb coaching and
calling job... even after going through an all-nighter! We had
proof that his presence is an immense source of motivation for us, which
helped us skim off 12 seconds from our 1500m time! Impressive...
Finally, a huge thank you to Erica, Jeanne and Audrey who "yelled after" us
from the drum... It helps so much during a race!
And so, the racing season has officially started and we're off to a
great start! Again, congratulations to all the paddlers and let's
continue with the great job!
